  • What are your Opening hours?

    At DTAS Oil Buying we are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as you can purchase your Heating Oil online at any time. If you would rather pick up the phone, our customer service team are available at our central office 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday on 0800 0384437.

  • Is DTAS Oil Buying part of another company?

    Yes, DTAS Oil Buying is a website operated by Craggs Energy Ltd and in partnership with Development Trust Association Scotland.

  • Who delivers my fuel?

    At DTAS Oil Buying we work with approved, likeminded third party suppliers within Scotland to ensure that your deliveries are fast, efficient and you receive the highest level of customer service.

  • Where do you deliver to?

    DTAS Oil Buying is proud to serve almost the entire mainland of Scotland. Although we cannot yet claim to cover every postcode in Scotland we are adding to our network all the time.

  • What sizes are your tankers?

    By using local third party suppliers DTAS Oil Buying can offer different sized vehicles to suit the access to your home. Our standard tanker is the largest option as it is around 8.7 metres long and 2.4 metres wide. Our baby tanker is much more manoeuvrable at approximately 2.2 metres wide and 6 metres long so it is ideal where access is restricted. Our purpose built 4x4 Land Rover is 1.7 metres wide and approximately 4.6 metres long making it ideal for the hardest to reach places or extreme weather conditions.
    Please note that we cannot guarantee availability for all vehicles in every postcode.

  • My tank is away from the roadside, can you still deliver?

    Yes, the hoses on our tankers are approximately 45 metres (150 feet) long allowing us to reach those tanks away from the roadside with ease.

  • Does how much I order affect the price per litre?

    Yes, in order to get the cheapest price per litre we suggest ordering the largest amount of Heating Oil that you can store. Additionally, to make it even cheaper select the longest delivery window possible.

  • What do I do if I run out?

    If you have run out of Heating Oil please contact a member of our team who will endeavour to organise an emergency delivery. Call us at our central office on 0800 0384437.

  • What if I need to change/cancel my order?

    If you need to amend or cancel your order speak to one of the team either by calling us on 0800 0384437 or email us on

  • Do you have a minimum order for delivery?

    Yes, our minimum order quantity is 500 litres.

  • Can you deliver to an IBC or non-standard tank?

    Yes, however our drivers reserve the right to refuse delivery if they deem the tank to be unsafe or unsatisfactory.

  • Is there VAT on home heating oil?

    All domestic Heating Oil is subject to VAT charged at 5% regardless to the quantity you purchase.

  • Can I pay by Credit Card?

    Yes, however please note that all transactions with a credit card are subject to a 2% surcharge, this can be avoided by paying with a personal debit card. If you require more assistance speak to a member of our team at our central office on 0800 0384437.

  • Can I set up a credit account and be invoiced after I have had my delivery?

    Unfortunately no all orders must be paid for before delivery. All online orders must be paid by Debit Card or Credit Card. If you would like to pay by Bank Transfer this can be arranged over the telephone with our customer services team.
